In 2002 the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville hosted their inaugural Beauty of the Spirit Luncheon at the Motherhouse in Amityville. The event, which was initiated to celebrate the beauty of the spirit of women – their strength, compassion, and wisdom – was attended by 400 guests. This special day gave us an opportunity to reconnect with supporters and friends. Over the years the event grew and as more attendees joined in the festivities the gathering moved to The Crest Hollow Country Club.
With an uncertain time frame for a return to a life that existed pre-pandemic, we continue to plan innovative ways to remain connected. On Saturday, August 8th we celebrated this year’s virtual Beauty of the Spirit Luncheon from the comfort and privacy of home.
