Dominican Pause Header 3

The Grotto

This stone Grotto was built more than 100 years ago, perhaps as early as 1915, to honor Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette. The Dominican Order has always held a special love for Mary, Jesus’ mother. The Dominicans helped to popularize the Rosary, a Marian prayer tool that combines the recitation of prayers such as the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be while contemplating scenes of the life of Jesus and Mary. This Grotto is listed on the National Historic Registry.

REFLECTION:  "If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces…never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again…We can always start all over again. Enjoy God’s amazing opportunities bestowed on us. Have faith in Him always." - St. Bernadette
