Laudato Si' Action Platform
Commitment to Pope Francis’ Laudato Sí Action Platform
On Sunday, December 12, 2021, the Congregation’s Leadership Council signed the Laudato Sí Action Platform (LSAP) Public Statement. In the document, the Dominican Sisters, Associates, and Young Adults of Amityville, New York, publicly commit to responding to Pope Francis’ invitation to participate in a seven-year journey toward sustainability and integral ecology by developing a plan and concrete actions in union with the seven goals of the Laudato Sí Action Platform.
As we accept our responsibility to Care for Creation, we challenge individuals, corporations, and governments to respect the rights of every person; make ethical decisions and steward the environment. The Sisters often respond to global concerns by taking a corporate stance, a statement of principle with recommendations for change.
