The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, NY hosted their Annual Dominican Gala celebrating the 800th Anniversary of the Dominican Order on October 25, 2016, at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.
The event raised over $200,000 to support the ministries of the Sisters of St. Dominic.
This year’s event was joy-filled, entertaining, and touching. Our Sisters met and mingled with over 310 family and friends of the Congregation and our honorees. Our wonderful award recipients – NYPD Deputy Chief Theresa Tobin; Ann Elizabeth Diliberti, OP; Regina Corde Hockenberry, OP; Loretta Maggio, OP; Jeanne Elaine Matullo, OP; Fran Monuszko, OP; Christine Sammons, OP; Margaret Rose Smyth, OP; and Kathleen Sommerville, OP – represent the true fiber of Dominican charism.
Proceeds from the event offer supplementary support to a variety of exceptional educational, health, and human service programs in which our Sisters are engaged.
