2017 Dominican Gala

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, NY will host their Annual Dominican Gala on October 26, 2017 at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY. Cocktails begin at 6:00 p.m followed by dinner and dancing.

The Sisters of St. Dominic are proud to honor Juliet Papa, Reporter for 1010 Wins Radio, and eight Sisters ministering in chaplaincy & pastoral care: S. Maureen Chase, S. Maureen Coyne, OP, S. Joan Agnes Geraghty, OP, S. Elizabeth Gnam, OP, S. Denise Haviland, OP, S. Rosemary Jermusyk, OP, S. Lynne Queck, OP, S. Katherine Thornton, OP.  all of whom will be recognized for their extraordinary work throughout the metropolitan area.

Juliet Papa is an award-winning reporter for 1010 WINS Radio, the top-ranked all-news station in the nation. Her assignments have taken her throughout the city – and  the world.  In 2015, Juliet  anchored coverage of Pope Francis’ historic visit  to NYC.  She was sent to Rome in  2013 for the papal election,  was there in 2012 for Cardinal Dolan’s elevation and again in 2005 after the death of Pope John Paul II.

Juliet is a proud graduate of St. Agnes Academic High School. She is a published author and has written articles for the NY Times and Readers’ Digest Magazine.  She is also on the executive committees of the Inner Circle, and the Artists/Writers softball game,  two organizations  that benefit  local charities.
