A We Move Forward Together Special Event: A Winter Retreat with St. Teresa of Avila

The celebrated Doctor of the Church, St. Teresa of Avila, shows us how to trust our personal experience of God. You are invited to spend four weeks with us prayerfully

Acknowledging that God Dwells in Us, Celebrating the Gifts We Have, Trusting God’s Work in Us, Finding Good Companions, and Turning Our Eyes Upon Jesus.
Using the book, Set the World on Fire: A 4-Week Personal Retreat with Female Doctors of the Church by Vinita Hampton Wright, we will delve into the life and prayer of St. Teresa of Avila.

The author tells us, “What we can gain from spending time with St. Teresa is a sharpened sense of everyday holiness, refined by reasonable discipline and tempered by a reawakened sensitivity to God’s merciful love.”

Sr. Mary Ann Collins, OP, a Dominican Sister of Blauvelt, has been engaged in retreat work (preached and directed) and spiritual direction for over 40 years.  She studied at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, CA and at Fordham University School of Religion and Religious Education, Bronx, NY.
Sr. Mary Ann has ministered as a Vocation and Formation minister as well as served in leadership in her religious Congregation.  She worked as a hospice spiritual care leader and as a NYS Corrections Chaplain.  Sr. Mary Ann has facilitated retreats and spiritual direction in Florida, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, and South Africa.
