Beautifully written by Thomas Berry in 1988, this still palpable vision of peace, Cosmology of Peace, may surprise us ~ it does not negate violence as endemic to the earthly, indeed cosmic “splendor that finds expression” in the coming-to-be of Earth’s present or future dream.
Cosmology of Peace is to be prayed, guiding our hearts and hands stained with the sacred toil of renewing our world, resonant in confrontation, in beating swords into plowshares. But let’s not be fooled ~ this task is in the order of magnitude of change not experienced by any previous generations.
So where do we go for guidance? Join us, as with Thomas Berry, we will contemplate our emerging vocation creatively, lovingly groped toward ~ intimate even ~ down to the seventh generation.
