Molloy’s Leadership Development Group Visits the Motherhouse!

Last week, twenty members of Molloy University’s Leadership Development group visited the Motherhouse to learn about the Dominican Sisters who founded their school.
The students expressed a desire to meet some of the sisters in person, so to Amityville they came. When they arrived, they walked the hallowed halls, while hearing the history of the congregation.
A highlight of the tour was visiting the cloister and Rosary Hall Chapel. “This was the best part of the tour for them,” said Sister Gina Fleming, promoter of youth for the Congregation. “The looks on their faces when they walked into the chapel said it all.”

After their tour, they met sisters in Martin de Porres for a pizza supper. The young people sat with the sisters and asked them about their lives and ministries. The sisters also asked the young people about their lives at Molloy University.
Since finals for these students were the next week, the students asked for prayers and were given the Dominican Blessing by the sisters. Upon leaving the adult leaders of the group Campus Minister Michelle Martin and Vice President for Mission Integration and Inclusion Donald Mitchell, Jr., PhD promised to come again next semester.
