Welcome to Amityville, Novices!
In April, the Novices from the Collaborative Dominican Novitiate (CDN) were on a weeklong whirlwind tour of the local Dominican Congregations in the area. On April 4th, they visited our Amityville Dominican Congregation. The CDN now includes 22 Congregations. The novices will visit the Sisters of Hope, Blauvelt, Maryknoll, Caldwell, Summit as well as visiting Sister Dusty Farnan at the United Nations. Before morning Mass, the Novices shared some of their experience at the CDN with our Sisters.

Dominican Sister of Peace Terri Schell: “It is beautiful to be able to experience the Collaborative Dominican Novitiate,” she said. She loves being in Chicago where there are others seeking God including women and men Religious, as well as diverse students who represent people from every continent. “To be surrounded by that and then also to go home and be surrounded by our Dominican family and to process all we get to learn through a Dominican lens with one another…that has been really enriching.”
