Sister Mary Anna Euring’s Art Show Raises More than $12,500 for LI’s Immigrant Community
Sister Mary Anna Euring raised more than $12,500 for those in need through the sale of more than 100 of her original paintings at an art show which extended from April 19th to 21st held at Queen of the Rosary Motherhouse in Amityville. The money will be donated to Visitation Ministry run by Sister Flor de Maria Buruca (pictured with S. Mary Anna at left) which helps immigrants on Long Island.
During the weekend of the art show joyful viewers perused Sister Mary Anna’s Asian Brush artwork in the Regensburg Room. There were many paintings of the natural world such as dancing white cranes, a full moon peeking out from an evergreen, playful waves crashing on a craggy cliff, and more. Many of the creations were made by S. Mary Anna during the 40 days leading up to Easter, as part of her Lenten promise!

At the event, there were also mugs (with a depiction of St. Dominic) as well as bookmarks, notecards, and origami crane earrings.
After the whirlwind weekend, one might expect S. Mary Anna to be exhausted. “People asked me, ‘Aren’t you tired?’” Sister Mary Anna commented. “No! I am energized. I was surrounded by love. I was astounded by the awareness of the needs of the immigrants. I was so happy to spread the word about that. This was not about making money, this was mission.”
In response to all the generous donors at the show — and to those who continue to donate — S. Mary Anna said, “All I can say is God is good!”
