On Saturday, April 23rd, Homecoming Farm held their annual Spring Awakening at Molloy College in collaboration with their Office of Mission and the Siena Center for Social Justice.
We were proud and honored to welcome Yale academics and renowned Thomas Berry and Teilhard de Chardin scholars, Mary Evelyn Tucker, PhD and John Grim, PhD. They presented the screening of their Emmy-award winning film, Journey of the Universe which has expanded into presentations, into programs, into courses and more, while becoming a world-wide phenomenon.
We welcomed 85 attendees for an inspiring presentation including a panel discussion with Mary Evelyn Tucker, John Grim, S. Jeanne Clarke and Sam King, Yale graduate student and Outreach Coordinator for Journey of the Universe.
Topics included:
• the connections between Teilhard de Chardin and Thomas Berry
• Thomas Berry’s impact on the Journey of the Universe film
• the connections between Thomas Berry and Homecoming Farm
• the appeal of Journey of the Universe to high school students and eco-communities where the New Story is taking root
It was an inspiring day of presentations, sharing and a deepening understanding of the New Story. Elizabeth Keihm, Executive Director of Homecoming Farm concluded the day with a meditation on the spirituality of bees.
